“Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.”
This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”
Hebrews 4:6-11 NIV
Remembering my teen age, I recollect times I had to give my dad and mom bills of certain things I needed to pay for in school.
At that age, I had no clue of their income or personal needs. I just had that assumption that they were fully responsible for all my needs and meeting them - which they did.
Growing up, I begin to adjust myself before presenting any bill to them , I took time to consider what there response will be and if they could afford it at that time.
The possibility of a good response from them became my thought always. In comparison to our faith- life expression today , many Christians have allowed their thoughts replace their faith
This has allowed many Christians never enter their rest, because they are busy Calculating the cost production of their needs before presenting the proposal to God
Pleasing God always brings blessings, joy, rest and without faith it is impossible to please God.

When you’re not pleasing God, you must be pleasing something else.
Developing thoughts and building up faith are both works, but the later is good works.
And every good works are rewarded well.
Today, start feeding your thoughts with the assurance that God is able
